Green Monster

This is the bile, said the one on the left pointing to the tube coming out of my right nostril and carrying a spinach-juice like fluid to a bag, up behind my head. Initially heptocytes secrete bile into canaliculi. From there it flows to the ducts. What I mean to say, since because of surgery the usual routes are blocked, the bile cannot reach the colon, for that reason… Don’t forget the impact of the narcotics interrupted the one on the right, as if all these descriptions were meant to have a calming effect on my wife who standing between the two, must be seeing me as the Aqueduct of Valence that transported muddy waters from the reservoirs of the Black Sea to Istanbul’s Yerebatan Cistern or the Sunken Palace. As for me, I was thinking of a black and white movie I had seen in the mid-fifties, “The Monster of the Green Lake” and how we, a bunch of 5th graders, had sprinted to the exit door through that incredibly long and dark corridor, as though with “The End” sign, the beast would become free to abduct us to its cave, deep inside this filthy lake, in a jungle of seaweeds.
